Cranial sacral therapy (CST) is a form of bodywork that relieves bone compression in the cranium (head), sacrum (lower back), and spinal column. CST is non-invasive as it uses gentle, supportive pressure to the head, neck and back to relieve stress and pain caused by compression. It assists the body to “unwind” and assist healing a number of conditions.
Joan is recognised by all health funds.
Bowen Therapy aims to rebalance the autonomic nervous system by activating the body to reset it self to heal. Nervous and endocrine systems are activated. Much attention to the continuity of muscles up the back and down the legs means that this relationship is highlighted. Manoeuvring these muscles can have a profound effect on the spine and posture.
The ancient Japanese practice of Reiki, assists healing by balancing the body mind and spirit. It is a profoundly deep peaceful experience where healing takes place at a cellular level. Reiki assists people suffering from a wide range of major and minor ailments.
With remedial massage, Joan will locate and assist the body to repair damaged areas. The pressure applied in this healing treatment can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the issue. Joan uses effleurage, trigger point, facial release and many more techniques. Joan has 30 years experience working as a remedial massage therapist and recognised by most health funds. Joan will work with you to pursue the original reason for the pain, tackling both the cause and symptoms. Remedial massage stimulates circulation, makes joints more mobile, helping to repair damaged tissues. The aim is to balance the length, tone and tension of muscles and tendons, restoring skeletal alignment.
Aromatherapy is massage therapy using pure essential oils (mostly Australian sourced).
